I am pleased to welcome you to my website. With over 20-many years of experience in nutrition, my aim is to excite, inspire and encourage healthy relationships with body and food combined with good nutrition. I specialize in medical nutrition treatment for patients with eating disorders or unhealthy eating practices, my many services include individualized nutrition counseling for weight loss, heart disease, sports nutrition and women's health issues. I also provide healthy eating coaching from grocery store tours to cooking basics and recipe ideas. Presentations and nutrition courses are available for groups, schools and classrooms from preschool to college courses. Available are nutrition education materials and mentoring for other nutrition professionals.

Barbara Andresen, a native of South Florida, holds degrees in Nutrition Counseling and Dietetics from the University of Florida and the University of North Carolina. As a Registered and Licensed Dietitian, Barb was employed by Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center for twelve years and notably became a Pediatric Dietitian Specialist. Joining WSWomanCare, PA in 1995 in the position of Director of Medical Nutrition Therapy, Barb began an Eating Disorder outpatient treatment program.

In 2003, Barb formed a private practice that focuses on Eating Disorder Treatment and other women’s issues. Barb has special training in the treatment of Eating Disorders, and an interest in nutritional treatment of Menopause, Pregnancy and Obesity.

Amanda Hester Oglesby holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from East Carolina University and is a Registered and Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist.  She has spent the last 13 years in school foodservice creating student centered and approved menus, developing new recipes and conducting taste tests, delivering nutrition education in the classroom, identifying allergens and conducting training, hosting youth advisory meetings in order to gain valuable feedback from customers, teaching food safety, being a preceptor to dietetic interns, all the while adhering to strict budget restraints and federal nutrition guidelines.  During her tenure, she earned the School Nutrition Specialist credential from the School Nutrition Association.  The SNS Credential is a mark of excellence and achievement that reflects the knowledge and skills required to perform specific job duties related to managing or directing school nutrition programs in today’s challenging climate.

She is a certified ServSafe instructor and proctor.  Instructors and proctors are experienced professionals from all segments of the foodservice industry and are considered experts in food safety education.  Previous work experience include restaurants and catering venues, long term care and mental health facilities and public as well as private schools.  

She is a member of the NC Dietetic Association and became involved because she believes in the dietetic profession and promoting health and well being for all people.  She currently holds the position of president in her local association.  In her free time, she loves to be active and enjoys gardening as well as running, hiking, biking and spending time with family and friends.
